I have graduated from the Institute of Applied Psychology at the Jagiellonian University. I have also completed a four-year Gestalt psychotherapy training programme at the Gestalt Institute where I learned my profession.

I am a psychotherapist because I believe psychotherapy is a process which can improve person’s way of living. I have experienced it myself and I have seen how a therapy brings about changes in my clients’ lives.

In my work I aim at providing effective and professional help to those who need it. The method I use (Gestalt) gives me flexibility not only in adapting the therapy/treatment to an individual’s needs but also in being responsive to their capabilities. Although a conversation with the therapist constitutes the basis of the therapy, it is never monotonous as we can use drawings, work with our dreams or engage our body.

My work is supervised on regular basis. I work in compliance with the European Association for Psychotherapy standards.

I am a holder of the European Certificate of Psychotherapy issued by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP).

PSYCHOTHERAPY IN CRACOW

Each and every person experiences some difficulties in their lives which they cannot tackle on their own and even friends and family are not always able to help. It is then and there where a psychotherapist can come to assistance.

People who come to a therapy for the first time very often say that they have never imagined themselves visiting a psychologist and that they have always managed their problems themselves until now. They treat the necessity to consult a psychologist as their failure, whereas, in fact, a psychotherapy requires a lot of courage from a client to confront their weaknesses as well as perseverance and honesty with themselves and internal motivation.

A psychotherapist is not able to fix anything for the client, their role is to accompany, support, help to adopt a new perspective and new, more constructive ways of dealing with difficulties.

The knowledge gained during the psychotherapy enables a client to be the agent in a decision-making process in daily life situations. If we really learn our reaction patterns, we get a chance to make a decision that actually reflects our intentions of how we want to behave. Once we gain such a skill, we can modify our behavior and adapt it to our needs and circumstances, this giving us a feeling of greater control over our life.

KEY AREAS WHICH UNDERGO CHANGES DURING PSYCHOTHERAPY:

  • emotional reactions,
  • fulfilling your needs,
  • interpersonal relations,
  • achieving assumed life goals.

EFFECTIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY GUARANTEES:

  • Improved mood,
  • stronger feeling of having influence on your life,
  • stronger feeling of self-fulfillment.

Taking the above into consideration, one of the main indicators of the therapy’s efficiency is a client’s evaluation of their quality of life, whether it has improved over the therapy period.

TREATMENT

I specialize in individual long-term therapy for people over 16. It means that I faciliate
therapeutic processes for longer time depending on the client’s needs and goals. A standard
therapy time frame varies – a client may be in therapy for 6 months or 3 years. It is their
decision (taken with my support), however, to conclude a therapy.

MY THERAPY IS ADDRESSED TO PEOPLE WHO:

  • have overcome their addiction
  • have diagnosed psychiatric disorders,
  • suffer from depression,
  • suffer from anxiety disordres,
  • suffer from neurotic disorders with psychosomatic symptoms
  • suffer from eating disorders,
  • have difficult time due to a loss, break-up or a condition
  • simply feel unhappy and feel the need for professional support.

In order to be effective, a therapeutic process requires regular sessions with a therapist, which usually means one 50 minute session a week. In individual cases I may meet with a client every second week but then I recommend 75 minute sessions (1.5 of standard session).

One session costs PLN 180. I accept cash, card and Blik payments after each session. Once a month, if a client needs an invoice, I can issue one.

FIRST SESSION

The first session is the time when a client can familiarize themselves with a new situation,

Talk to the therapist and outline their problem. Usually a client needs time to check what the therapeutic work is about, learn a given therapist approach, get answers to their questions. It is also time for specifying, with psychologist’s assistance, area that needs therapy. Once all of this data has been collected, there comes a moment for making a decision whether this form of help/development satisfies my needs and whether I want to work with this therapist. In other words, in the course of first new sessions a client makes a decision whether they want participate in a long-term therapy. The first visit, together with two consecutive ones, give the client time to collect enough data to take such a decision.
